This collaboration is about breaking barriers and creating space. This night is about more than music—it’s about representation, community, and creative expression. We challenge industry norms, push boundaries, and create a space where our stories are heard, shared, and celebrated. Makaan is a record label and a space for amplifying the voices of marginalized, unseen, and unheard artists from SWANA+ and MENA regions. Makaan Records breaks down the barriers of borderlines, censorship, sanctions, and discrimination, particularly within the techno genre, by creating an inclusive platform for cultural exchange. mnjm is a Berlin-based label and event series platform. it refers to the first gay dating app offered in Arab countries amongst others (Manjam). Taking the inspiration from its decentralised approach towards non-western cultural heritage and bridging it with diverse sonic influences. mnjm brings periphery back to the center by highlighting emerging and established artists from the diaspora and beyond.
