Renate has always been more than just a place to party, it's a place for culture and experimentation! We believe culture should be accessible, affordable, and as diverse as the community it serves. Doors 20:00, performances from 21:00, + after party until 02:00. Face Value is the new project of Julius Klaus and Markus Hartung, formerly members of Sultans Court. After years of making music together, the duo are taking their sound in a more electronic direction, drawing heavily on the energy and culture of Berlin’s club scene. With their studio located at Renate, the influence of club culture, powerful systems and long nights of continuous music is deeply embedded in their approach. Their music is shaped by a constant dialogue between atmosphere, rhythm and repetition. Tracks emerge through extended improvisation. Dense, atmospheric textures, rhythmic fragments and recurring motifs gradually evolve into defined structures. Synthesised sequences meet acoustic drums, field recordings and repetitive vocals, balancing meticulous design with an openness to chance and spontaneity.
